2 THESSALONIANS CHAPTER 3- In the 3rd verse Apostle Paul says that Lord Jesus is ever faithful and He will sustain us and keep us from all evil. God has called us to be His people and He expects us to follow His commandments. Practically in daily life sometimes it is very difficult for us to follow them. At times we become unfaithful to Him and fall into temptation. When we fall like this we don’t keep our part of covenant with Him. But Lord Jesus is ever faithful and loving to us in spite of our shortcomings. When we sincerely repent for the sins we had committed He lifts us again from the pit and sustains us so that such incidents will not happen again. Thus whenever we succumb to sins our job is to get up from this pit and continue our spiritual journey forward without looking back and also try our best not to fall into this pit again.
In this chapter Apostle Paul chides about the people who do not work but act like busy people. He says one should work hard to earn his food as its God’s will that we do so. He advices the Thessalonians to stay away from lazy people. He explains how he and his group were like role model to them by working like laborers to earn their living. But he says not to treat these lazy people as enemies but correct them just like a brother would do.
He also asks the Thessalonians to continuously pray for them and their ministry as they were experiencing many difficulties and persecutions. Apostle Paul knew that collective prayers of many people for a particular subject always produces immediate response from God. Jesus said when two or more people gather and call on His name, He is present there and whatever we ask in Jesus name He will grant it to us. He is our loving Father who will shower His blessings on all who follow His commandments. He is ever faithful.
